Rāhui: Locations and status

Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust is the mandated authority for the hapū of Ngāti Manuhiri and its environs. Under the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Act 2012 and the tikanga of our hapū the Trust is responsible for the cultural, environmental, social, and economic protection, development, and advancement of the hapū.

Our area of interest starts from Te Paepae ō Tū along the coastline of the Mahurangi including Te Ārai, Pākiri, Omaha, Tawharanui, Whangateau, Waiwerawera, Ōrewa, Whangaparāoa, Ōkura, Te Raki Pae Whenua, to Takapuna. Across to the west and out towards the inner and outer islands of the gulf including Te Hawere a Maki, Hauturu o Toi, Aotea and Mokohinau.

Under our tikanga the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust holds responsibility for upholding and protecting our customary interests and practices including Rāhui and other cultural responsibilities.
