Cultural Inductions have grown and morphed over the years as engagement with Treaty Partners, key stakeholders and the wider community have increased.
Originally, the purpose of a cultural induction was a response to the Resource Management Act and was used as a tool for all people doing physical mahi within the rohe o Ngāti Manuhiri to uphold kaitiakitanga and raise awareness.
Our Treaty Partnerships play a huge role in this process as it is through these partnerships that it is compulsory for all organisations and community groups who are applying for a permit or concession through Te Papa Atawhai Department of Conservation to have all relevant kaimahi attend a cultural induction prior to starting works.
We have held several cultural inductions already this year for many different kaupapa! If you are interested in more information or want to book a cultural induction with our team please contact:
