Ngati Manuhiri Settlement Trust: Election of Trustees Update as at 2 August 2018
APPOINTMENT OF ELECTORAL REVIEW OFFICER
In the matter of a request by Sammy Williams to review the Ngati Manuhiri Settlement Trust election of trustees held 20 March 2018.
The President of the New Zealand Law Society, acting pursuant to clause 13.2 of Schedule 2 of the NMST Trust Deed, on 27 July 2018 appointed Damian Stone, Partner, Kahui Legal, Wellington, as Electoral Review Officer.
He has accepted the appointment.
APRIL 2018 update
The Trustees have received an application from Sammy Williams for a review of the Ngati Manuhiri Settlement Trust, Election of Trustees held 20 March 2018.
The NMST Trust Deed, second schedule paragraph 13.4 provides that:
“All applications for a review shall be submitted to the Trustees and
- Shall be in writing
- Shall set out the grounds for the review, which grounds shall be set out with sufficient particularly to enable the Electoral Review Officer to ascertain precisely the basis upon which the review is being sought: and
- Shall be accompanied by evidence that the applicant for review has to substantiate the grounds given in the application”
The Trustees have now asked Sammy Williams to provide additional particularities regarding the matters raised in his application.
